Yes, I am a wedding photographer with love for details!

Yes, I confess..... I am kind of a wedding ring addict! Yesterday night Teno and I visited some friends that recently got married and I just couldn't keep myself from taking a closer look at the new bling. Unfortunately we couldn't be with them on their wedding day because I was since long booked for a wedding abroad the same week. But, nothing could stop me from a detailed study of their beautiful wedding rings from Vasastans Guldsmedja!

Make your wedding photographer happy - No. 2!

Just hours after I uploaded my previous post I got mail..... another wedding invitation! This time it was an invitation to a wedding in September. The bride and groom to be live abroad and I met them for the first time recently, and I know for sure they will be a great wedding couple!

Do you want to make your wedding photographer happy?

Well, in that case you should do as Åsa and Egon! They are getting married on Saturday and guess if I put on a big smile when I found this invitation in my mail yesterday! I suppose I should have taken a photo before I opened it, but I was just to curious. Most of my clients are super sweet to me and it gives so much extra inspiration during the shoot. Thanks Åsa and Egon!

Costa Smeralda wedding - Mina & Sumit - part 2

Finally I can post part two of Mina's and Sumits wedding in Sardinia! I will of course also add a looong blog post with portraits and photos from the dinner and party, but now it's time to relive the moments with the very cool wedding party before the emotional ceremony and the happy time when the couple said "I do".

Is it a strange animal in the bushes or could it be a wedding photographer doing her thing? Well, judge for yourself! The result from this special moist mud treatment for my feet can be seen above, the first photo. The photo of the bush animal is obviously not shot by me, but by my husband and photo assistant for the day. He also shot the b/w group shot just below and some of the other photos as well.

While I was hanging with the girls my husband found out that some of the guys - including the groom - seemed to miss the VM football game for the day, so they simply started to play around on their own. I just loved the relaxed feelings this couple spread throughout their wedding day!

Just before the ceremony the wedding party went to the beach to await the arrival of all of the guests. Once again, I just l.o.v.e. this relaxed couple!

Emma and Rasmus got married in 2008 and it was really nice to meet "my" wedding couple again! Since their wedding they have become three in the family and I had to take at least a few shots of them. If you want to see their wedding photos, visit my portfolio here.

Mina's wedding bouquet was made of four smaller bouquets so look what happened when she threw it! She now has four very happy unmarried female friends!

Busy summer days for a wedding photographer!

I haven't posted anything in about a week but it's not because I don't have any new photos to show. On the contrary I have too much work to do! Anyway, I felt I really had to shares these portraits from my recent Italian wedding with you! I just l.o.v.e. the location and the fact that one could see the harbour in Porto Cervo in the back.

And yes, I think it's needless to say that this bride took both my and her husband's breath away that day.....

The couple photo at the top is shot with my 16-35 mm f2.8L lens at 16mm and f2.8. For the bridal portrait I used my 85 mm f1.2L lens wide open. As you can see I have placed the bride and groom in the shade to avoid the sun and to get a really flattering soft light. The wall in front of them is white which gave just the necessary extra light I needed in their faces. Only natural light and natural reflectors were used.

Costa Smeralda wedding - Mina & Sumit - part 1

I have so many great shots from Mina's and Sumit's wedding in Italy that I just have to do more than one blog post. This first post is all about the details and the preparations, the time of the day when all the waiting soon will come to an end and the bride and groom will meet for the first time on the wedding day!

Mina wore something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue on her wedding day and it was all perfect. The family's 150 years old (or something like that) veil was so beautiful, her new dress was perfect for her, she had her mother's ring on her right hand and her shoes really were "Something blue". All of you who are SATC fans will understand what I mean!

Yes, Mina is quite short and I just love the photo below!

While I was covering the bride's preparations my husband Teno, who was my assistent during this wedding, spent time with the groom who of course had to get ready as well. Teno is actually the one who introduced me to photography when we met in 2001, and it felt good to have him by my side!

I will post part 2 of this amazing wedding in a couple of days or maybe a week. It may take some time because I have soooo many pictures to go through and I have so much work. But, I love it!

Destination wedding photographer - Costa Smeralda

Mina and Sumit, I simply can't express how lucky I was to be your wedding photographer and I had a great time with you, your families and great friends! I fully understand your love for Sardinia and I know that your love for each other will last a lifetime!

I have thousands of photos from this destination wedding week but I simply haven't had time to look at them and do a blog selection. But I assure you I will post more as soon as possible!

Black and white stylish summer wedding in Stockholm

Anette and Peter married in Stockholm and I just love the locations they had chosen, Berns hotel, the wedding at S:t Jacobs church close to Kungsträdgården and dinner at Operakällaren. The tricky thing was that their wedding was the same day both as Stockholm marathon and an event in Kungsträdgården, which meant that the city was completely crowded with people. But, despite that we managed to get very relaxed portraits even though we had a lot of people passing by looking at us while shooting. We started at Berns and then simply walked towards the church and used the photo opportunities on the way.

Anette and Peter, you were great!

I particularly like the series below. I found this fantastic tree in Berzeli park and I think it was just the perfect place to shoot at!

I have seen many brides with coloured shoes by now, but I had never before seen a bride with the perfect black wedding shoes. Now I have!

After walking through the crowded Kungsträdgården, we found the silence close to the wedding church S:t Jacob.

Relaxed family portraits with a lot of love and a baby

85 mm f1.2: ISO 500, 1/500, f1.2

A beautiful woman. A handsome man. An early summer evening in the beginning of June and the gorgeous couple's cute baby. Yes, being a photographer is sometimes really easy!

I often get questions about my equipment and how I how I use the light. The truth is that in my opinion the question of light is simple - I just love to use natural light, just like in all these photos! This time I have added information about lenses and camera settings for each photo as guidance. As you can see I used only two lenses, always used wide open. Camera: Canon 5D MarkII, manual mode.

Bright sun could be really difficult, but the sun can also be a photographer's best friend, just look below!

During the shoot I got the idea to this shot, but it was quite obvious that Ida was much more interested in the flowers below her than in looking at me and giving me a smile..... This was actually the only decent shot I got from that particular moment but I don't mind if it's only one when it looks like this!

Elegant city wedding couple with a lot of style!

This Saturday's wedding had some special challenges as regards finding the locations for the portrait session. But, as you can see it's possible to find places like this even in Stockholm city the day for the Stockholm maraton! More to come in a few days! I promise the photos are worth waiting for!
