A preview from when Ann became Mrs Rihani!

Yesterday I headed to Rånäs slott, confident that it's a place for great weddings and great wedding couples! And, I was right! Again, I remembered that this bride to be had told me earlier she never ever looks good at photos. But such comments only makes it even more fun to shoot because I know that all my brides - and this isn't just a saying, I assure you! - will look gorgeous! A perfect dress, nice hair and a lovely birdcage did a lot for her looks but the most important ingredient to become this stunning was of course her love for Sam and having all of their families and friends with them on their wedding day!

And what about the groom? Well, he was cool, relaxed and had some amazing details to lay your eyes on as well.

As always I had a great assistant with me, this time it was Özgür Engüzel who helped me carry all my equipment, parked my car and acted like my third (and fourth) hand throughout the day. Thanks!

Happy wedding day with the family..... 50 years later!

About three weeks ago I wrote a post about my and my husband's five years wedding anniversary. This couple from Germany has also been married for five years..... multiplied by 10! They got married in 1960 and came to Sweden with their family during the really hot weeks in July when I met with them for some family portraits. Looking at their photos makes me happy and really gives me inspiration for tomorrow's wedding!

Emma's & Magnus' wedding day at Rånäs 31 July

I will soon upload Emma's and Magnus' private web gallery from their fantastic wedding day and I want to share some of the photos with you! They will have a hard job selecting their favourites!

Emma had prepared a surprise for her bridesmaids, a gift for each of them! The cute bags held pearls for them both!

I just love the red wall and this sofa on the second floor of Rånäs and having a wedding couple looking this great sitting at it isn't bad either!

This photo below is also one of my favourites from the day.

They got married in the small chapel close to Rånäs castle and scroll down to see how the wedding couple and all the guests got back to Rånäs!

This is the proud newly weds' classic ride to the venue.....

..... and this is how transport the cattle.... oh, sorry, the guests of course! I love it!

My friend Pernilla, the most beautiful bride ever seen!

First of all, Pernilla is gorgeous, in every way. Secondly, her love for Tor-Harald made her glow even more and completely regardless of the fact that she is my friend, I have to say that she was T.H.E. most beautiful bride ever when she said "I do" and became Mrs! I wasn't the official portrait photographer yesterday because Pernilla is not only my friend, she is also friend and relative to my friend and colleague Jenny Hammar. I suppose you will be able to see Jenny's portait on her blog later on (and I will later post some I took as well) but for now I can show you some photos from Pernilla's preparations just to prove to you what I said about how gorgeous she looks!

This time I also want to say something extra about Mia Högfeldt, hair stylist and make-up artist. If you ever need to look stunning, I strongly advice you to contact her, she was absolutely great! Apart from being great for brides, she works a lot with beauty and fashion photography and she is also chief editor at Gazet.

Pernilla didn't want to wear a veil but she did wish to do something extra to get the bridal touch. So, I and Jenny suggested that she should go for a birdcage or a coiffe and she did! Nevertheless, it isn't easy to find a coiffe that matches perfectly with a special dress so I asked if I could make one for her as a gift. And she said yes! So, I did two similar versions for her to choose from and you can see the one she went for on the photo below, handmade by me! What happened with the one she didn't pick? Well, I still have it so if you want to buy it, contact me!

Having breakfeast or early lunch at a table full of make-up, hair products and other bridal stuff? Well, if you're the father of the bride you may have to deal with it!

Midnight post processing - a dream wedding

I haven't had time to publish a full blog post from Emma's and Magnus' wedding simply because I have so many photos to go through and I haven't been able to select just a few! I still have plenty of photos to work with, yet I just have to shut down the computer now because it's past midnight. But before I say good night to you, I want to post these photos from Rånäs castle which I truly love! And yes, I love both Rånäs and the photos!

Sirikitt & Bo at Ulriksdal's chapel and Stallmästaregården

This couple had asked for romantic portraits and what place could be better this rainy day than a greenhouse! They got married at Ulriksdal's chapel and I had arranged so the portraits could be taken at Sommarsalongen, which kind of saved the day when the rain started to pour down! Sirikitt and Bo, you were great and I hope you enjoy your photos. You have plenty more to wait for, but here are the first ones!

Before the sky opened up we also took some shots with an umbrella, so we really could take advantage of the beautiful garden with all its coulours.

Yet another photo with a lot of colours! Yes, it rained, but the soft light really makes it easy to bring out vibrant colours in a photo.

Ulriksdal is one of my favourite wedding chapels and it gets even better with beautiful flower arrangements. Here below you can see how the groom awaits his wife to be to enter the church with her father.

After the ceremony the newly weds and all of their guests took a boat ride to the reception. The weather could have been better, but all the guests were in good mood and had a great time anyway!

The reception was held at Stallmästaregården and the decorations and details were lovely!

Anneli Larsson assisted me during this wedding and I want to send a special thank you! Especially when it's raining, a good assistant is worth a lot!

A very rainy 7 August wedding sneak preview

Considering the heavy rain in Stockholm, yesterday's wedding couples will all have very happy marriages, and there's no doubt that applies to my couple! They were so sweet and I think we were quite lucky after all because during the photo session the rain was actually quite moderate (compared to the late afternoon outdoor shower!). Both the bride and groom looked stunning!

Moments of peace, feeling alive in every breath

Even though I love what I do, I have had too much work this year and it's really starting to feel that I need some time for myself. Time to relax, to be alone without e-mail and internet and time to just breath and feel. It will take more that a couple of days but this week those days on my own felt like a life line. This week I went to Vargas Vildmarkslodge and spent a day and a night in a bear watching hide. Yes, we did get to see the wild bears in their natural habitat and a huge one got really close, only 4-5 meters from the hide. But, they came in the middle of the night and it was pitch black, so there was no way I could get any decent photos in that non existing light. But, at early day break I sat completely quiet in the middle of the forest and just..... lived.

The photos in the foggy forest were shot with Canon 100-400 mm f4.5-5.6L and for the photos below I used Canon 100 mm f2.8 macro.

I've got a feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night!

Yesterday I photographed a fantastic wedding couple at Rånäs slott and even though it's impossible to go through all photos in one day I just have to give you this preview of what's to come later! Emma and Magnus, I'm absolutely sure that you did have a good night all night long and I hope you like these first photos from your day as much as I do! I loved to shoot your wedding and it was pure pleasure to be your wedding photographer!

Do you remember this post about being my assistant during a wedding? The Jönköping based wedding photographer Sara Landstedt was one of the lucky and she was my assistant during this 6 hour shoot. Thanks Sara for your company yesterday!
