Another black & white boudoir session - for your own sake

I shoot a lot of boudoir sessions and I love it, but I can't post boudoir photos here on the blog that often. Why? Because of their private nature of course and the fact that most clients want to keep their photos private. Today though, this gorgeous lady told me I could show you some of her photos from her session some time ago. She was very nervous when we met but her presence in front of the camera was something special, she literally transformed and turned into what you can see here. She is great and so could you be - you don't need a special reason to book a boudoir sesssion, you can do it for your own sake!

I got a question - why did I chose to be a photographer?

I just love to get e-mails with new inquiries but what I love even more is to get e-mails from previous clients when they tell me they love my photos! Recently, I get an e-mail from a boudoir session client and she tells me her new husband just loved the photos I took of her before their wedding. But this time I didn't just get nice comments about my work but also a question about how I began my business as a photographer. My honest answer to that question? I don't really know, I just did what I liked to do and before I knew it I had a business! But, what I do now is that I have always, since I was a little girl, loved beautiful things and yes, weddings are the most perfect events for someone who loves real emotions, happy people and good looking clients (yes, all brides and grooms look gorgeous on their wedding day!)! Have I studied photography? No. Did I have a lot of experience when I took on my first assignment? No (actually, I don't understand how I dared to do it!). Have I ever had a mentor in the business? No. And finally, do I love what I do, am I inspired by the love in the air around me and am I happy tonight, full of inspiration? YES!

And of course I can't write a blog post without also posting some photos, so here are some from one of my weddings in August! The photos above are from the couple's first look, real emotions and love!

A December wedding to look forward to - a preview!

In December, I will tell a story with my photos. I will tell a story about a sweet couple very much in love when I follow Åsa and Carl Henrik during their wedding day. I will capture Åsa's transformation into a - without doubt! - very beautiful bride, I will be there when they say "I do", and I will be with them and their friends during the reception. From a photographer's perspective I think they might be the perfect couple to photograph. How do I know? Just look at the preview from their pre shoot a couple of days ago! They came to me in Solna in late afternoon and I picked a place which gave us perfect, perfect, perfect light! Did I say I loved the light?

Photographer's note: Canon EOS 5D Mark II with lenses 85 mm f1.2, 50 mm f1.4 and Lensbaby 3.0, post processing in Lightroom only.

3 quick questions from... my first time on Youtube!

I have had a looong but great day today (or rather, yesterday, the time is past midnight...)! This morning I joined my friend Sandra Birgersdotter at a seminar by Adobe, followed by a booking appointment with a bride a groom to be (I will photograph their wedding November 20), followed by a pre shoot with a couple that's getting married December 18. And, to top it, after that I did a web cam interview with Benny Ottosson and yes, I was the one who was asked questions. He was very fast to publish it and my interview is already up on Youtube and on his own web site! Go check it out and hear my view on my work and wedding photography!

The photo is one from this afternoon's shoot with Åsa and Carl Henrik, some more will come in a couple of days!

Are you getting married between May - August 2011?

I have recently thought about my plans for my business going forward and when doing so I also took time to look back over the last years. I thought about all my wedding couples in the past and realized that I have come across so many great couples which have given me the opportunity to share one very important day of their lifes with me. I can honestly say I have had only great clients and I know my future couple will be just as happy and in love as my past - which makes me smile when I think about next season.

Talking about that, my calender is starting to fill up so if you want me to take your wedding photos next summer it's time to contact me. Do you want some inspiration and a summary of my style as a photographer? Yes, I have picked a few favourites for this post!

Norwegian destination wedding couple in Stockholm

I get most of my bookings during the high season long time in advance so when I, with very short notice, was asked if I could photograph this Norwegian couple's small destination wedding in Stockholm I was thrilled. Why? They got married a Friday which meant I could do it! I met with them at Gärdet after their private ceremony at the Norwegian embassy and after the session I actually took them for a city tour in my car, pointing out some famous and some less known Stockholm attractions. It was fun to spend some extra time with them because they are so nice!

Wedding photographers from Skåne having fun with us

Summer is a hectic time for all wedding photographers and I hardly have any time at all to do anything else than work. But, a girl has to meet some other girls to have fun once in a while and about a month ago some Skåne based photographers came to Stockholm to meet us at Weddingphotographers.se! Here are some photos! And yes, I did have fun even though it doesn't look like that! Thanks to you all!

I'm back and buzy with a lot of inspiring post processing!

After having two weeks of holiday with my husband I'm back at work, with a huuuuge amount of work to do. But, I'm not complaining because when large orders are coming in from this summer's weddings I know I did good and that my clients are happy! However, I ask you to be patient because first of all I have to go through two weeks of e-mails..... What I do when I have to take a break from answering e-mails? Well, I just continue my work in Lightroom, selecting and post process wedding photos, and also blog a few for my blog readers to see. This is some photos from the client wedding gallery I working on right now!

Pernilla's & Tor Harald's wedding day - part 2

This was the first time in years I haven't walked around anything in the church during the wedding. Why? Because this time I was not there primarily as a wedding photographer but as a friend and, hold on, a singer. But of course I couldn't leave my camera at home! I have posted photos from Pernilla's preparations in an earlier blog post, but here are some from the actual wedding and also from the portrait session during which my friend and great photographer colleague Jenny Hammar was the main photographer. And yes, Jenny also know Pernilla (well, they are actually related)! You can find her photos of Pernilla and Tor Harald here on her blog.

Jenny did a great job chosing photo friendly locations and I just loooove the field she selected for the first part of the session! And also, having the photo session late in the afternoon gave us perfect light!

Because Jenny was the main photographer I tried to stay away, using long lenses, most of the time. However, when she did some detail shots I could "borrow" the gorgeous bride and groom for a short while.

Yup, she is beautiful!

For the second location, Jenny had found a house with a soft blue colour and it gave us both some shade and a perfect background for the photos. And I must say, it's inspiring to come along with another really great photographer and not feel the pressure to take specific photos. Instead I could simply look for great shots and do my thing. And yes, it was kind of strange for me not to give any directions at all!

Happy marriage for yesterday's couples and holiday for me!

I had a full day yesterday but I have been asked not to post any wedding portraits so I won't. But, I can post a few details from my first wedding at Vaxholm's church, beautifully lit with candles which created the perfect setting for this very rainy wedding day! Many congratulations to all brides and grooms that married yesterday!

I also want to say that I have had a fantastic wedding season summer 2010 with soooooo many great weddings! But, now it's finally time to get some rest and as from today I will take two weeks off. So if you call or e-mail me during that time I might not be that quick to get back to you! The blog will however not be completely abandoned so check it as usual and you will find new posts now and then.
